Servo aims to offer a standalone, modular web engine that can be easily embedded, enabling developers to create applications and content via web standards. Developed in Rust, it shares code with both Mozilla Firefox and the broader Rust community. Since launching in 2012, Servo has played a role in shaping W3C/WHATWG web standards through the identification of specification issues and the creation of new cross-browser automated tests, with core team members contributing to the editing of new standards that have gained acceptance among various browsers. This initiative not only advances the web platform as a whole but also relies on a foundation of reusable, modular technologies that adhere to web standards.
