Finally, a Platform Built for Presales Date: Apr 22 2025
Summary: Homerun has become a core part of how we run our presales function. It’s helped us track our efforts in a way that’s meaningful, not just to our team but to the broader organization. For the first time, we have a “presales view” of the sales cycle, with our own data, our own insights, and a real sense of ownership. It’s improved how we communicate internally, especially with product and sales, and it’s made the team more efficient overall.
Positive: What I really appreciate about Homerun is that it finally gives presales teams their own space in the sales process. It’s not just a repurposed sales tool, it’s clearly designed with presales in mind. We use it daily to log meeting notes, track demos, and manage POCs, and it’s helped bring a lot more structure and visibility to our work. The Evaluation Plans feature is especially useful: it lets us manage POCs in a consistent, repeatable way across different regions and deals. Also, being able to track feature gaps and the potential revenue risk tied to those gaps has changed how we collaborate with the product team. And honestly, it’s just easy to use. The learning curve is low, and it integrates smoothly with tools like Salesforce, which helps avoid extra admin work.
Negative: If there’s one thing I’d point out, it’s that the external reporting side still feels a bit limited. Creating reports for people outside the presales team, like execs or external stakeholders, takes a little more effort than it should. That said, Homerun has a solid track record of listening to user feedback, and I know they’re already working on improving this. So while it’s not quite perfect in that area yet, I feel confident it’ll keep getting better.
