Satisfied user for about a year

    Date: Mar 29 2026

Summary: For machinery manufacturers looking for a modern, interactive, and truly useful spare parts catalog, Components Engine is a solid and mature solution. It transformed our old static PDF catalog into a professional tool used by both internal technicians, resellers, and end customers.

If you're considering a 3D catalog system integrated with PLM, I highly recommend it. Request a demo with your data: seeing the viewer with your models makes all the difference.

Positive: After almost a year of using Components Engine daily in our company, I can honestly say it's one of the best choices we've made for after-sales service.

The 3D catalog management is truly excellent. We import models directly from our PLM (we use Windchill), and in just a few hours the catalog is online, complete with exploded views, bills of materials, and technical metadata. We no longer have to manually redo the drawings: the software takes the data from the PLM and automatically generates the 3D viewer.
The viewer is what impressed me most: it's incredibly fast, even with complex machinery (agricultural and industrial machinery with hundreds of parts). It loads in seconds, rotates smoothly, allows you to explode views, hide components, and find spare parts by searching by part number or name. It works flawlessly, whether on a desktop or a tablet in the field. Our technicians and end customers love it because they finally see exactly what part they need and how to assemble it, significantly reducing incorrect orders. Integration with PLM was easier than I expected. Once the workflow was configured, every revision update in PLM is almost automatically reflected in the catalog. This saved us a lot of time and eliminated version errors.

Negative: Honestly, I don't have any major weaknesses to report. At first, I was worried that the 3D viewer might be heavy or slow on less-than-optimal connections, but that wasn't the case: even with large files, it performs well.
Technical support is truly responsive and knowledgeable. Whenever we had a question or needed customization, they responded quickly (often within the same day) and solved the problem precisely. It's clear they know both the software and the needs of those who work with CAD and PLM.

Components Engine: quick start-up, 100% SLA and impeccable support

    Date: Mar 22 2026

Summary: In summary: an excellent solution, with 100% availability and SLA. If you have a PDM to integrate and want your spare parts data to run smoothly without constant intervention, Components Engine is one of those choices that pays for itself in just a few months. I recommend it without hesitation.

Positive: Components Engine has really made a difference for us when it comes to managing spare parts. Integration with our PDM was incredibly quick: models, BOMs and revisions sync seamlessly – no more scattered files or outdated versions floating around. Once connected, everything is there, updated in real time.
Then the automation of spare parts master data with the ERP system via REST API is a godsend: stock and pricing flow automatically, updating every time there’s a movement or a price list change, and goodbye to those classic manual copy-paste errors that used to drive us mad. Huge time savings for the warehouse and procurement department.

Negative: Cons? None, really. The technical support is top-notch: Italian, responsive, they immediately understand what you’re talking about and resolve issues without wasting your time.

One platform, zero compromises — after-sales management done right

    Date: Mar 06 2026

Summary: As a Service Manager, I conducted a thorough market analysis and evaluated several competitors before choosing Components Engine. It was the right call — and I would make it again without hesitation. This is not just a spare parts catalog tool: it is a complete, integrated after-sales ecosystem that transforms the way manufacturers, their internal teams, and dealer networks work together. If you are looking for a platform that scales with your business and truly integrates with your existing infrastructure, Components Engine stands above the rest.

Positive: The platform delivers a truly 360° after-sales management experience. The interactive 3D parts catalog (IPC) is outstanding on its own, but the real strength lies in the full ecosystem: all modules work seamlessly together — nothing feels bolted on.

The Plus module allowed us to centralize all the information dealers need — user manuals, technical documentation, installation guides — in one always-accessible place. This alone eliminated a constant flow of repetitive requests to our internal team, freeing up significant time and reducing friction across the board.

The Claims module has delivered excellent results in managing on-field interventions: from opening a claim to tracking resolution, the entire workflow is clear, traceable, and efficient — with a direct positive impact on after-sales service quality.

Spare parts order accuracy improved dramatically. The combination of the 3D catalog and integrated ordering module drastically reduced wrong selections and errors — previously a source of costly returns and delays. On top of that, full order visibility from placement to fulfillment means dealers can track every order in real time without ever needing to contact our back-office.

The technical team is genuinely exceptional: skilled, experienced, and proactive. The ERP integration was complex but handled with great coordination and delivered exactly what was needed.

The business results speak for themselves: significant improvement in back-office and front-office performance, meaningful reduction in operational costs, more customers managed by the same team, and stronger customer loyalty — dealers who feel supported and in control simply don't leave.

Negative: Integration with smaller or non-standard ERP systems requires dedicated technical support. That said, the Components Engine team has always been fully up to the task — responsive, well-coordinated, and effective. It is worth factoring in during the implementation phase, but it has never been a blocker.

Components Engine has simplified everything: from Inventor to automatic management

    Date: Mar 03 2026

Summary: An excellent solution, available 100% of the time. If you have a medium to large spare parts catalogue and want to stop wasting hours on heavy native PDFs or 3D files and scattered sheets, Components Engine is one of those things that once you try it, you'll never give up. Highly recommended! 🚀

Positive: Components Engine has enabled us to make a significant leap forward in terms of spare parts. We use Inventor for 3D models and integration is extremely fast: import the file and in a moment you have the interactive exploded view ready, without any oddities or endless conversions. It also works well with our PDM, keeping data synchronised without any hassle.
Then there's automation with management software via REST API: prices, codes, availability and everything else updates itself, with no manual entries and no more silly mistakes. It's a godsend for the technical office and for those in the warehouse.

Negative: Well, honestly, I don't have any. In fact, it was quick to set up (start-up in a few weeks, not months of running-in), and the technical support is top-notch: Italian, responsive, quick to resolve issues and quick to understand the real problems.

Integration between 3D Inventor and hubspot crm

    Date: Feb 27 2026

Summary: Overall, it is a solution that makes the flow between design, service and sales much smoother, improving both internal efficiency and customer experience.

Positive: In my experience, the integration between Autodesk Inventor 3D and HubSpot CRM managed by Components Engine has been very effective.
The 3D models are imported while maintaining the correct structure and hierarchies, and can be linked directly to item codes, bills of materials and customer records in the CRM. This creates continuity between the technical department and after-sales, reducing errors and data duplication.
I particularly appreciated the ability to navigate the 3D exploded view in a web environment and link it to tickets or sales opportunities, with information that is always consistent and up to date.

Negative: I did not encounter any particular issues. The case studies are clear and very comprehensive, and clearly demonstrate the benefits of integration between the technical area and CRM.

Seamless PLM-ERP integration and excellent Components Engine technical support

    Date: Feb 01 2026

Summary: We needed to create a customer portal where we could provide information on spare parts directly from the design drawings. The project was a great success.

Positive: I participated as a consultant in an integration between the company's management system, PLM, and Components Engine. The integration was successful without any problems: PLM sent the design bill of materials to Components Engine together with the CAD models, while the management system provided the pricing and availability rules within the customer web portal. Components Engine's technical support proved to be highly competent and efficient.

Negative: No complaints. Implementation times were fast, the roadmap was followed, and, as already mentioned, technical support was excellent.

Components Engine really simplifies spare parts management

    Date: Jan 28 2026

Summary: Overall, Components Engine is a professional and very powerful solution. It requires some initial effort and familiarity with the sector, but the long-term benefits are clear: it speeds up processes, reduces errors, and makes everything clearer and more organized.

Positive: I’ve been using Components Engine for a few months, and I must say it’s very useful for managing complex spare parts catalogs. I particularly like how technical drawings are directly linked to the parts lists: you click on an item and immediately see all the necessary information. The ability to access the catalog from a mobile phone or tablet is also a big advantage, as I can order parts even when I’m not physically in the office.

Negative: At first, it takes a little time to understand how it works and organize all the data. The learning curve is real, but once you get the hang of it, the software becomes a truly valuable ally in daily work.

Simplified digital spare parts portal integration

    Edited: Jan 24 2026

Summary: I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a partner that can support and “put up with” customers with a wide and varied range of material recovery needs. The delivery/technical support staff in particular have always been helpful, demonstrating considerable analytical and support skills in addition to their normal software support activities.

Positive: Components Engine allowed us to quickly digitize all our historical data and old catalogs in PDF/WORD/EXCEL format, using automatic import and digitization procedures and functions. The web portal became operational in a short time. We then activated all the connectors for integration with SAGE to have all data synchronized with our ERP in real time, especially pricing and order simulation, to give customers accurate delivery times and overall order costs. The editor integrated into the solution allowed us to correct and update “outdated” drawings and bring them into line with the new codes.

Negative: No problems, solution (product + delivery) met expectations, we met our deadlines and PKI defined at the start of the project.

3D is redefining after-sales parts catalogues

    Date: Jan 19 2026

Summary: The solution has enabled us to create an interactive spare parts portal directly from Inventor 3D models, fully integrated with our PDM system and SAP, delivering a robust and efficient after-sales support platform.

Positive: The adoption of Components Engine has marked a significant evolution in the way we manage our spare parts catalogues, primarily thanks to the seamless integration of 3D models with BOM data. With just a few clicks, part codes, descriptions, and quantities are automatically and accurately linked, ensuring data consistency and drastically reducing the need for manual verification.

The exploded 3D views are not only visually effective, but also fully aligned with the original design structure. This makes navigation intuitive and immediate, even for users without CAD expertise, greatly enhancing the understanding of assemblies and the identification of individual components. As a result, collaboration between the technical department, service teams, and customers has been noticeably improved, streamlining and accelerating the entire spare parts search process.

Negative: Overall, the user experience has been extremely smooth and intuitive. The available tools have met our expectations without presenting any significant challenges. While there is always room for future enhancements, we have not encountered any technical issues or critical limitations to date.

An advanced, user-friendly, and customizable after-sales solution

    Date: Jan 16 2026

Summary: Components Engine is a powerful after-sales tool that helps save time, minimize errors, and enhance communication between companies and their customers. It provides measurable efficiency gains and a real competitive edge!

Positive: Components Engine is a web-based platform designed to build interactive 2D and 3D spare parts catalogs without the need to open the CAD software. It supports both raster and vector drawings and allows great flexibility in managing parts lists by uploading a wide range of content, including texts, translations, images, technical documents, and price lists in multiple currencies, all dynamically linked to clickable areas of the drawings.
The system is equipped with powerful search filters and a built-in shopping cart, making it quick and intuitive to identify products, select spare parts, and access related documentation with minimal effort.
Another key advantage is the platform’s ability to seamlessly integrate with existing company systems such as ERP, CRM, and e-commerce solutions. Through both standard and custom integration protocols, Components Engine enables smoother data exchange and more efficient internal workflows.
The outcome is a comprehensive, easy-to-use, and constantly updated online spare parts catalog that delivers tangible benefits: 24/7 availability, increased customer independence, shorter order processing times, and reduced internal management costs.

Negative: There are no significant drawbacks to highlight. After a short learning curve, the software performs exactly as expected, and whenever assistance is needed, the Components Engine support team is responsive and highly professional.

Enhanced SVGs from SolidWorks Composer with Components Engine

    Edited: Jan 08 2026

Summary: The combination of SolidWorks Composer and Components Engine allowed me to transform technical SVG files into interactive spare parts catalogues with very little effort. This not only improved the quality of my catalogues, but also greatly simplified communication with customers.

Positive: I use SolidWorks Composer to generate technical drawings and detailed representations of my products. The transition from these SVG files to creating an interactive parts catalogue has always been the weak link in the process... until I tried Components Engine. The software allows me to easily import vector SVGs, making each dot clickable and linked to part codes with a semi-automatic workflow.
This integration from SVG to interactive catalogue is really smooth: not only can I associate each call-out with the lines of the bill of materials, but I can also publish the result on the web or in offline format in a professional manner. The result is a catalogue that displays the technical drawing with interactive dots and an automatically generated bill of materials, ready for order creation.

Negative: As with other vector import tools, if the SVG file is complex or contains unusual graphic details (transparency effects or gradients), it may take a little longer to import. However, the process is extremely smooth and fast.

A fully integrated 3D platform for B.O.M., CAD data, and secure web access

    Date: Dec 29 2025

Summary: My experience with Components Engine 3D has been excellent, particularly regarding its ability to bridge the gap between engineering and after-sales.

Positive: I have been using the 3D version of Components Engine and what I appreciate most is how effectively it integrates with existing enterprise systems, making it a truly solid solution for managing complex technical data. The integration with the PDM for B.O.M. management is particularly valuable. Bills of materials are imported in a structured and reliable way, ensuring consistency with engineering data and reducing manual intervention. This allows me to work with always up-to-date information, improving accuracy and minimizing errors across departments.
Another strong point is the automatic import of technical drawings directly from the CAD environment. Drawings are linked to components without additional steps, streamlining documentation management and significantly reducing the time needed to prepare complete and coherent technical content. Finally, the integration of the web portal with SAP via the SAML2 protocol is a key advantage from an IT and security perspective. Single SignOn simplifies user access while maintaining high security standards, making the platform easy to adopt within a corporate ecosystem already based on SAP.

Negative: Components Engine 3D is a technologically advanced product, and we haven't found anything particularly dissatisfying in its core functionalities. The integration of CAD, PDM, and SAP systems is handled with a modern and innovative approach, showcasing a solid technical architecture. While the system performs exactly as promised without any evident flaws, the overall experience is very straightforward: it is a reliable solution for those seeking technical innovation.
