    Finally Something That Just Works

    Date: Mar 10 2021

Summary: I recommend Concrete5 if you are, like me, frustrated by how complicated other web building programs are. Everything you need without having to download plugins or work around problems.

Positive: I like the user-friendly and intuitive interface. Even with WordPress, I need plugins like Elementor just to get a WYSIWYG interface. Concrete5 simplifies things.

Negative: I still have limits to what I'm personally able to do with coding websites, but that's more on me than the program. I found everything I needed without having to contact support.

    Best CMS so far

    Date: Feb 26 2021

Summary: It was the first CMS I have chosen 10 years ago now. Still it is my very first choice as it was also improving constantly over the years and makes me missing nothing.

Positive: Concrete5 - or now Concrete CMS - is a solid CMS that also serves as a framework. It has various benefits for editors to make content creation and management as easy as possible. For developers it provides a good framework for individual extensions.

Negative: The partner program and especially training & certification needs some improvements - which are already on the way currently

A awesome tool for a better and inclusive web

    Date: Feb 25 2021

Summary: I build a lot of websites for different industries like medicine, construction, food, automation, real estate etc. The principal benefit is the time I save building with concrete5.

Positive: Easy: installation, configuration, customization and to do improvements. A great community that help everyone in trouble (if happens). Tons of add-ons and great numbers of theme options (could be more, but is ok).

Negative: A few options to customize a theme on core system and few themes selling on market place.

Amazing CMS, easy to use for both developers and admins

    Date: Feb 24 2021

Summary: A great CMS that makes updating a site easy. So easy, that as a web developer I choose it for my own sites safe in the knowledge that I can make updates quickly and easily without having to alter the code in most cases.

Positive: As a dev, the Page object (coupled with page attributes, nav menus and page lists) makes structuring a website or web app a dream. The separation of page templates from page types also helps, the former being about layout while the latter is more conceptual.

As an admin, you pretty much have as much control as the developers of the site decide to give you.

Negative: - Lack of a REST API for using as a headless CMS (although I believe this will change with the next major version).
    - No built-in way that I'm aware of to integrate React and/or Vue components.
    - No equivalent to Wordpress + Advanced Custom Fields' "repeater" fields.

It really is very good for a CMS

    Date: Feb 23 2021

Summary: I like the community and the software is very polished and runs fast. The overall look and feel is very good and professional. It is open source and free so you can see and modify the code as needed and add plugins where you lack a function for that build in.

Positive: I say that because all CMS's are quite complicated to run since it is more of a kitchen sink approach than a focused solution. But, Concrete5 hits all the right points for our solutions and we had it up and running fast.

Negative: Documentation can be lacking at times but the software is very well laid out and so easy to implement.
Small add-ons market which is still okay because it gets the big things right and they are of good quality.

Very good and versatile CMS with unique features

Read the online doc and you will be fine with Concrete5.

Positive: Concrete5 includes "workflow" to manage editing permissions on website for different users.
You can choose any HTML template on the web and use it easily with Contrete5.

Negative: Nothing to say, everything is good to me.
It would be great if more people know and use it.

    Powerful, easy-to-use website content management

    Date: Feb 19 2021

Summary: concrete5 is very well accepted by our clients who find the editing interface easy to use. We enjoy developing with concrete5 and the community is helpful and friendly.

Positive: concrete5 delivers a complete content management system including WYSIWYG editing, forms etc. without the need for extensions to accomplish basic tasks. That said, concrete5 also provides an excellent modern php framework for further development and the marketplace provides a range of useful AddOn components.

Negative: Documentation has previously been criticised but this is improving steadily and Portland Labs recognise the need to continue this.

Works as expected, a bit resource intensive

    Date: Feb 17 2021

Summary: I've used this software for my own companies as well as a few client websites. There are improvements to be made.

Positive: I generally found Concrete5 to be easy to install and quite extensible. There are a variety of themes available to customize the look of the site.

Negative: It is quite resource intensive. Errors in configuration may require a rollback to a prior backup. Some old extensions are still on the marketplace that are not compatible with the current version and aren't well marked what version they apply to.

Amazing Enterprise Class CMS, Open Source Licence

    Edited: Feb 17 2021

Summary: In the 10+ years we've been using Concrete5 as our primary CMS platform for website design and development. Ease of use, flexibility and _security_ are all top of class.

Positive: My firm has been using Concrete5 for more than a decade to build small, easy to edit websites and large, complex data driven websites. My development team loves it because it's completely customizable. Our clients love it because it's an immediate, approachable way to edit, maintain and grow their websites.

Negative: None I can think of, seriously. Concrete5 is a web CMS platform that you can count on.

    Powerful, Extendable, User-Friendly

    Date: Feb 16 2021

Summary: I have used Concrete5 for "business-card" type websites and complex applications including product lifecycle management, project management software, and health claims. Costs are very low to implement and the structure is robust and well thought out. Concrete5 allows me to build secure sites quickly that my clients love to use.

Positive: Concrete5 is great for everything from simple websites to custom, complex, applications. The peer-reviewed marketplace offers out-of-the-box solutions that save plenty of time and cost less than developing on your own with many add-ons available for free. Community support is fantastic with user forums and projects, including an e-Commerce solution that is robust and inexpensive to run with no monthly fees (seriously, the best e-Commerce package you're going to find). Sites can be deployed quickly with minimal costs and end-users can be trained often in minutes instead of hours or days. The platform is secure and allows fine-tooth permissions control. Internationalization is handled too for those that need to display their sites in multiple languages. Self-hosted and Concrete5 hosted options are available and maintenance is usually easily managed at the user-level.

Without question, Concrete5 is the perfect mix of power and usability to allow sites to be deployed quickly at a reasonable cost.

Negative: There can be a learning curve and the technology used in the background has grown more complex over the last few years. This is not to say that it can't be used by those with less technical knowledge, just that like with any CMS there is a learning curve and some occasional pitfalls.
